WBAI-FM Upcoming Program
Katie Halper Show

Wed, May 20, 2026 3:00 PM

NATHAN ROBINSON & VICTOR CORONADO

On today’s program Katie is joined by Victor Coronado, a Dominican American  natural gas first responder, union member (IBEW Local 1820) and ANTICONQUISTA member, who along with Katie and others were detained while participating in the Cuba Convoy which brought over 6,300 pounds of humanitarian aid to the island.

They speak with Current Affairs Editor Nathan Robinson, who reflects on his time with us in Cuba, debunks the propaganda about the trip and exposes the truth about the U.S. in Cuba.

Victor Coronado is a Dominican American natural gas first responder and union member (IBEW Local 1820) from Perth Amboy, New Jersey. He is a member of ANTICONQUISTA, an anti-imperialist media collective, and recently joined the Venezuela Solidarity Network. A longtime supporter of the Cuban Revolution, he participated in the Nuestra América solidarity convoy to Cuba in March 2026 and is active with the Hands Off Cuba Committee.

Nathan Robinson is the editor of Current Affairs, a print magazine of political and cultural analysis. His work has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The New Republic, The Nation, and elsewhere. He was a political columnist at The Guardian until he was fired for a not even remotely problematic tweet about America's unwavering support for Israel. A graduate of Yale Law School, he completed a PhD student in Sociology and Social Policy at Harvard University. He is the author of a number of books, including Superpredator: Bill Clinton's Use and Abuse of Black America; Trump: Anatomy of a Monstrosity; Why You Should Be a Socialist; Responding to the Right: Brief Replies to 25 Conservative Arguments.
