Synopsis:

In this week’s segment we discuss a march to support Mumia Abu Jamal and all political and elderly prisoners. But first we hear about the latest climate change conference, COP30, and the limits of that process in preventing climate disaster.

The latest United Nations climate change conference, COP30, recently ended in Belem, Brazil. A people’s counter summit also took place, attended by indigenous Brazilians and activists from around the world. We are joined by 2 participants, Ajamu Baraka, Black Agenda Report contributing editor and director of the north-south project for peoples centered human rights and Anthony Rogers Wright, who is also a BAR contributor, an activist and host of the WPFW program Full Spectrum with Anthony Rogers Wright.

Beginning on November 28, a march for Mumia Abu Jamal and other political prisoners will start in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and end on December 9 at S.C.I. Mahanoy prison in Frackville, Pennsylvania where Mumia is being held. The march is called to support not just Mumia but all the elderly incarcerated who suffer from medical neglect, all political prisoners, and to bring Mumia home. We are joined by two lead organizers of this effort.
