Synopsis:

An amusing moment featuring a Haitian politician at the United Nations obscures continued interference from the US and the UN. But first we hear analysis of US and Israel actions that have sparked the beginnings of a regional war.

Dr. Gerald Horne is an author and historian who currently holds the John J. and Rebecca Moores Chair of History and African American Studies at the University of Houston. Nearly one year after operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7, 2023, Israel continues its siege of Gaza and escalates into Lebanon first with terror attacks using pagers, bombings, and the assassination of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. As we speak, Iran has launched missile strikes against Israel, just five weeks before a presidential election. Dr. Horne joins us from Houston to analyze these events.

Dahoud Andre joins us from KOMOKODA, the Committee to Mobilize Against Dictatorship in Haiti. He’s also the host of Eritye Papa Desalin, a daily Haitian community radio program and the host of Haiti: Our Revolution Continues on WBAI. He joins us from Brooklyn, to discuss Edgar Leblan, President of the Presidential Council of the Transition of the Republic of Haiti, who is now known for an amusing moment when he spoke before the United Nations General Assembly. But who is he? What is the UN doing to Haiti now? Dahoud Andre will provide analysis.
