Synopsis: ** "Some people say they watched the debate - I think I watched a medical emergency..."

Sex, Lies And Video Debates:
Pacifica Host Garland Nixon and guest political commentator Shaheed Bolson dissecting the disaster. While "on the issue of Gaza which was almost completely passed over, both Trump and Biden said things in the debate that would make them eligible for prosecution for war crimes..."

** "I thought it was disgraceful, I laughed at what the apology was. But ultimately someone chose to photoshop out my pin - I mean I was disappointed but I was also in a way thankful more attention was drawn to my support of Palestine.."

From Colonialism To Cannes. Guy Pearce on erasing history in his latest film portrayal, the Lee Tomahori directed 'The Convert
' - a look back dramatically by the First Nation New Zealand filmmaker at the historical uprising in the 1830s against the British invaders - and Pearce's PTSD former British soldier turned preacher who switches sides and joins them in their struggle.

And, erasing uprising as well in the present time, when Vanity Fair removed (then was outed) in their doctored photo of Pearce at the Cannes Festival, the pin he wore in solidarity with Gaza. The Australian actor talks about this and more, including previous portrayals like Andy Warhol in Factory Girl, that he considers political as well.

** " This year's Crime Novel Festival was marked by the intrusion into the spine of the novels, the real world problems and catastrophes going on around the festival..."

Dark Stories For Dark Times: Bro On The Global Literary Beat At Quais Du Polar
. Arts Express Paris Correspondent Professor Dennis Broe checks out the focus there on climate apocalypse, rapid income inequality - 'and just outside a vigil calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.'

With connections to a failing earth, white collar crime, dystopic worlds to come, John Grisham, the Mafia and Gotti - and 'a dead body discovered in an icy cave in the Scottish highlands..."

** "In this election more than any time ever - we absolutely have to look at this wider world..."

The UK Desk
: Jack Clarke on a very different July 4th elsewhere - the critical UK election challenging the war mongering status quo there and across Europe.
Clarke in a conversation with George Galloway's alternative radical Workers Party candidate, Dr. Matthew Alford.

And while 'Dr. Alford is not just another face in the crowd - he brings a sharp political perspective on the reckless foreign policies that he believes have led us to the brink...'
