- Prof. Noliwe Rooks: W.E.B. DuBois Professor of Literature at Cornell’s Africana, American, and Feminist Studies programs. She’s known for her public speaking and writing in some of America’s top newspapers. She also has written a new awa - winning book, called Cutting School: Privatization, Segregation, and the End of Public Education, which discusses how America’s segregated school system came to be the way it is.
- Prof. Jamila Michener: assistant prof. at Cornell’s dept of gov’t. She’s got a book out now, called Fragmented Democracy: Medicaid, Federalism and Unequal Politics, which discusses the political landscape for black, Latinx, and low - income Americans.
