Synopsis: Today on Sojourner Truth, our weekly roundtable.

As the death toll continues to climb in the United States to over 33,000 and testing for COVID-19 remains problematic, the Trump administration has announced guidelines to re-open the country. This, against the advice of the usually-conservative U.S. Chamber of Commerce as well as other corporate leaders. They say more testing is needed before the country can re-open safely. Nevertheless, Trump says some states could reopen as early as Friday, April 17. This, after Trump dealt a blow to fighting this and any future pandemics around the world by cutting U.S. funding to the World Health Organization, a blow that will hit the poorest the hardest. Also, once we do come out of this pandemic, will we return to business as usual?

Our panelists are Laura Carlsen, Jackie Goldberg and Dr. Gerald Horne.
