On this episode of City Watch, cohosts Carlos Menchaca and Jeff Simmons talk with New York City Councilmember Alexa Avilés about her appointment to chair the Council's Immigration Committee and her priorities to address immigration issues in the city, as well as her recent legislative proposal to require the use of electric shore power by cruise ships at berth.

Then Victoria Alexander and Susan Povich, co-chairs of the Red Hook Business Alliance, call in to discuss their concerns about the impact of the cruise ships on the surrounding area. Povich is also the co-founder of the Red Hook Lobster Pound.
