NYC SCHOOLS CHANCELLOR DAVID BANKS

Hosts Carlos Menchaca and Jeff Simons continued WBAI's special Spring fundraising campaign on Sunday, May 28 by offering special gifts to listeners who donate as part of our celebration.

During the first half of the show, New York City Schools Chancellor David Banks calls in to discuss the Department of Education's latest news, including a newly announced major citywide campaign to declare literacy and reading instruction as the core focus and overriding priority of New York City’s public schools.
