On tonight’s show we’ll be joined by author and critic Darryl Pinckney, to discuss Come Back in September: A Literary Education on West 67th Street, Manhattan, a more-than-memoir about Pinckney’s personal and literary entwinement with Elizabeth Hardwick, Barbara Epstein, and The New York Review of Books, the legendary journal both women had co-founded.
Darryl Pinckney is the author of the novels Black Deutschland and High Cotton and the nonfiction works Busted in New York and Other Essays, Blackballed: The Black Vote and US Democracy and Out There, Mavericks of Black Literature.
