Attorney General Bill Barr said yesterday that he agreed with his Department’s Civil Rights Division to not pursue federal charges against the New York City police officer who killed Eric Garner in 2014. Garner was selling single cigarettes from an untaxed pack when he was approached by police officers, wrestled to the ground, and put in an illegal chokehold. He pleaded with the officers, saying, “I can’t breathe” 11 times before dying. We are joined by Hertencia Peterson the aunt of Akai Gurley, a young man murdered in the pink houses on November 20th, 2014 by NYPD rookie cop Peter Laing and Shaun Landau. Hertencia became an activist after her nephew’s death and has joined forces with other families who have lost loved ones to police brutality across NYC.
Joining Hertencia is Shaniqua Pippen, an organizer on the front lines against mass incarceration. Shaniqua has been organizing to get her brother, Ronald Williams free from prison after being caught up in the mass incarceration system.
Recently, Mike Pence visited two detention facilities, McAllen and a facility near Donna Texas, near the U.S.-Mexico border where migrants were being held on Friday. Joining the show is Heather Benno, an immigrants rights activist and the founding attorney with Immigrant Justice Solutions, a community legal services organization. Also joining her will be Carolyn Gomez, a healthcare union organizer, and activist with the party for socialism and liberation in LA.
Trump tweeted that Congresswomen reps. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Rashida Tlaib of Michigan and Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts -otherwise now known as “the squad” that they should “go back” to “the totally broken and crime infested” countries they came from.

On July 6, billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein was arrested− once again −at the Teterboro airport in New Jersey by the FBI and NYPD Crimes Against Children Task Force. Epstein was indicted on federal charges of sex trafficking and conspiracy to commit sex trafficking, stemming from accusations dating to 2002-2005.
The scandal has since brought down Trump’s Labor Secretary, Alex Acosta, who helped hide Epstein’s crimes more than 10 years ago in his role as U.S. Attorney in Florida.
