PROUD BOYS: MISOGYNY TO FASCISM / RGB INTERVIEW

On tonight's show we'll present an interview with Cassie Miller of the Southern Poverty Law Center on the Proud Boys--and and a rare conversation with Ruth Bader Ginsburg recorded at a Veteran Feminists of America event in 2008.

Proud Boys

The Proud Boys are in the news again, since being mentioned during last Tuesday's Presidential debate. What most coverage doesn't mention is that they got their start as part of the misogynist "men's rights movment" and later switched to a more general kind of neo-nazism. But their ideology on women is still out of Hitler's playbook. They see women as inferior to men and not fit for work outside of the home and try to hide their misogyny by claiming to "venerate" housewives..

Cassie Miller, of the Southern Poverty Law Center covers it all in an interview with Fran Luck that ran on the Pacifica nationally-aired series "Covid, Race and Democracy". The interview also examines the racist beliefs of the Proud Boys and their role in the anti-lockdown/anti-mask "movement" that has played a large role in spreading the coronavirus iin the U.S.

RBG Interview

RGB relaxes in a room full of feminists at a Veteran Feminists of America interview rarely seen--and speaks openly on many personal and  political issues--including how she felt arguing for women's rights before indifferent male Supreme Court Justices; how she managed to have a distinguished career while raising a family and the feminist lawyers that preceded  and laid the groundwork for her--including reknowned African American attorney Dr. Pauli Murray....

We will play about half of the interview and offer the full interview to those who become sustaining members of WBAI ("WBAI buddies") during this show (by calling (516) 620-3602 or going to give2wbai.org).
