September 17 is Black Theatre Day! The date commemorates the anniversary of the first public performance at the African Grove Theatre, the nation’s first Black professional theatre, in 1821.

In celebration, we’ll speak with Jackie Jeffries and other leaders of the Audience Development Committee, aka AUDELCO, Inc., about their ongoing work to keep Black Theatre live, thriving, and connected to its audiences.
