This Week on Everything Old Is New Again, we present
A Tribute to Maltby & Shire! Their Story Goes On!
Richard Maltby, Jr. and David Shire met as freshmen at Yale University in the 1950s and went on to form a legendary American musical theatre songwriting partnership that spans seven decades, famous for acclaimed revues like Starting Here, Starting Now, Closer Than Ever, and About Time and their Broadway Musicals include Baby and Big!
We’ll present songs from cast and pop recordings as well as four renditions of the song What About Today? with performance by:
- Barbara Streisand
- Shirley Bassey
- Loni Ackerman
- Melissa Errico
Frank Dain of Cabaret Scene will co-hosr, Carolyn Montgomery interviews the songwriters and spoken tributes to the them from Liz Callaway, Sal Viviano, Sally Wilfert & More!
