KING KONG RADIO 1933, JEAN SHEPHERD 1971

This Wednesday overnight, June 10 into 11, we will hear our long-lost co-host Ann Marie Hendrickson who presents THE GOTHAM RADIO PLAYERS performing four lost episodes of KING KONG from 1933 scripts, based on the movie – the spider pit, dinosaurs, The Empire State Building, the planes, recorded at the Mid-Atlantic Nostalgia Convention back on Sept 18, 2014. It stars our fallen comrade Paul Becton as Carl Denham.

A few songs about Kong, and then a lost episode of JEAN SHEPHERD from the Hines Collection, from Friday June 11, 1971 “Different Kinds of Education”

Shep salutes Will Weng, crossword puzzle editor at The New York Times.

He then compares Aesop to George Ade, then reads "The fable of the bookworm and the butterfly who went into the law." The moral is "There are at least two kinds of education."

Tune in to WBAI-NY 99.5 FM and on the stream at wbai.org tonight at midnight.
