PROTECTING YOUR PETS THIS SUMMER
Tune in to Animal Matters on Sunday, June 14 at 9:00 AM on WBAI 99.5 FM NY, streaming live at WBAI.org, when host Erin Clarke talks with Dr. Carly Fox, Senior Veterinarian in the Emergency & Critical Care Service at the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center, about summer pet care and how to keep dogs, cats, and other companion animals safe as the temperatures rise.
Summer can be a wonderful time for pets and their families, but it also brings real risks — from heat stroke and burned paws to dehydration, toxic foods, parasites, fireworks anxiety, travel concerns, and dangers around pools, beaches, and parks. Dr. Fox will walk listeners through the practical dos and don’ts of summer pet safety, including how to spot warning signs that your pet may be in distress and when it’s time to seek emergency veterinary care.
Then, in the second half of the show, we want to hear from you. Call in with your questions and stories at 212-209-2877. What are your biggest concerns when caring for your pets in the summer?
