HAPPY NEW YEAR 2026! WINNING IN 2025

The next Eco-Logic is on New Year's Eve so we are wishing everyone a happy secular New Year. With all the turmoil and challenges life throws at us, especially this year, we strive to remind you and ourselves that good things are happening as well. Eco-Logic always open the show with good news stories. We are realistic that all is not positive in this world, but we always bring you solutions and things you can do. Regular listeners will have heard many solutions and successes to environmental problems in our news segments and from our guests--many organizations and individuals working to make a better world.

We celebrate the end of the year with good news stories about court cases, animals, energy, and more:

    A tribute to Betty Reid Soskin, the oldest National Park Ranger,

    Two Supreme Court victories--corner crossing (private vs public land) and Exxon-Mobil;

    Diane Wilson, one of the Formosa 4, filed a lawsuit suing Dow Chemical;

    The discovery of a glowing sea slug “Bathydevius caudactylus”;

    Decrease of global nuclear power;

    National Wildlife Federation's state legislative victories;

    End-of-year report from Surfrider, including information about a Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) public-comment period ending on January 23rd;

    Native bees, honeybees, and hedgerows;

    Energy efficiency, data centers, cybercurrency;

    No bidders for driling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge;

    The 30-year anniversary of Canada’s Environmental Damage Fund;

    Farming communities putting environmental health over party loyalty.

Our songs for this episode are the NYC Metro Raging Grannies' “Energy Efficiency, Paul Pino's “It Ain’t Over ’Til We Win”, Rianna Piatt's “Thank You Farm Workers”, and Walkin' Jim Stoltz's “Power in the Earth”,
