GUNSMOKE from CBS via the AFRTS on Feb 02, 1958 #304 "Kitty's Killing." A religious fanatic named Jacob Leech comes to Dodge to wreak the Lord's vengeance. A good story. With William Conrad, Parley Baer, Howard McNear, Georgia Ellis, John Dehner, produced and directed by Norman Macdonnell, written by Marian Clark, editorial supervisor John Meston, SFX by Ray Kemper & Bill James, music by Rex Koury, announcer George Walsh.
ISN'T IT A CRIME from WNEW-NY on Dec 14, 1945 #13 "Speaking Of Murder." A haunted house at 1:00 A.M. is the scene for the reading of a rich uncle's will. This murder mystery, coming from WNEW in New York City, is unique in several ways. WNEW was not noted for live drama of any kind, yet this is a well-written story. In addition, a re-cap of important clues are dramatized for listeners who are then given a minute to try to figure out whodunit. There's no shame in failing to name the killer, as the plot is convoluted. One mistake was noticeable. At the start of the story, we discover the old mansion is lit by candles because, "the fuse blew out." Yet, as the killer is named, someone yells, "Turn On The Lights!" and lo, there is light. It's an excellent show from an unexpected source. Host: Jerry Marshall (whose usual duties at WNEW was playing records), written by Don Thompson, directed by Milton Bernard Kaye, with K. C. Allen, Eleanora Reid, Leonard Scherer, Jason Johnson, Eileen Court, Merrill E. Joels, organist Kay Reed.
THE LUCKY STRIKE PROGRAM STARRING JACK BENNY from CBS on Dec 17, 1950 for Lucky Strike. The traditional and very funny Christmas shopping trip show. Jack tries to buy golf tees for Don. Starring Jack Benny, Mary Livingstone, Eddie Anderson, Frank Nelson, Sheldon Leonard, Phil Harris, The Sportsmen, Artie Auerbach (Mr. Kitzel), Don Wilson, Dennis Day, Mel Blanc, Bea Benaderet, Blanche Stewart, Joseph Kearns, Elliott Lewis, Herb Vigran, Veola Vonn, commercial spokesman Del Sharbutt, L. A. Speed Riggs (tobacco auctioneer), music by Mahlon Merrick, produced by Hilliard Marks, writers Milt Josefsberg, Sam Perrin, George Balzer, & John Tackaberry.
THRILLS OF TOMORROW FOR BOYS from A.C. Gilbert on Dec 11, 1933 #7 The first plane-mobile race. Announcer Ben Grauer.
