We hear part of an event moderated by our own co-host Michael Smith. The event was a book launch for the publication From The Flag To The Cross: Fascism American Style. Speakers include economist Rick Wolff,  New York-based writer Margaret Kimberly and economist Kshama Sawant. 

Co-host Heidi Boghosian takes a look at the state of pretrial detention in New York City jails where 7000 people are held daily, not for crimes but because they can't afford bail or have been remanded to custody. Guisela Marroquín, Executive Director of the Pretrial Justice Institute talks about why people are being detained before they're found guilty and offers pathways to reform.
