ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION NOW MORE THAN EVER

For some of us, environmental education provides the push toward environmental activism. For others, their environmental activism pushes them to learn more.

Fortunately, there are many organizations dedicated to environmental education. We will have representatives from two of them on the next Eco-Logic: Kerry Kirk Pflugh, Executive Director of New Jersey School of Conservation & Eli Schloss, Educator/Tideline Program Director of Hudson River Sloop Clearwater.

All ecosystems are important to preserve, and two different local habitats are represented on this show-- The Hudson River/Hudson Valley, and the mountains of NW New Jersey. Protecting these ecosystems is vital. Both have unique and wonderful wildlife. You'll hear from representatives of two organizations that are involved with keeping the air and water clean and healthy. Both groups network with other organizations doing environmental education.

Environmental education is more important than ever; ecosystems affect all our lives. We need to protect our land, water, and air. Talk about preserving, protecting, and conserving the environments with your friends, family, and elected officials--especially with your elected representatives on the local and state levels, where we can have the most impact. This episode is oriented toward solutions to attacks on education, nonprofits, and libraries—all institutions that reflect human values as opposed to making ever more profit a top priority.

Eco-Logic makes the living world fascinating, appealing and something you want more information about. Listen and enjoy!

The news we have for you on this episode covers microplastics in brain tissue; scientific critiques of political decisions, as in doing nuclear testing again and carbon credits; and a legal victory against a dam expansion in Colorado.

Our music to complement this show is Peter Gabriel singing his song, “Down To Earth”.
