Insurance coverage losses under the proposed American Health
Care Act replacement are a matter of life and death and how the
defeat of Trumpcare can open the door to HEALTH CARE FOR ALL!
with
. Deborah Burger, Co-President, National Nurses United and RN
. Dr. Donald E. Moore, Pres., Medical Society of the County of Kings,
Physicians for a National Health Program, N.Y. Metro Chapter, and
MD, MPH
As the Republicans push forward their abysmal replacement, the American
Heath Care Act, much of the talk surrounding its impact focuses on
insurance numbers and premium hikes. Those things are certainly
important. But this is more important: The Republican plan will cause
unnecessary suffering and preventable death. We’ll discuss how we know
this, how do we defeat Trumpcare and the opportunity for the American
public to seize the time for HEALTHCARE FOR ALL, with a Single Payer
System/Medicare for All!

Beyond $15: Immigrant Workers, Faith Activists,
And The Revival Of The Labor Movement
with
author, Jonathan Rosenblum - a labor, community, and faith
organizer for more than thirty years, playing key roles including
as SeaTac Airport campaign director.
Jonathan Rosenbaum talks about his new book Beyond $15 , which he
argues, is an “examination of power in our society today – how it got so
imbalanced, the devastation this imbalance has wrecked, and what
working people can do and must do to reclaim power and voice in our
society.” Rosenblum’s book provides the inside story of the first
successful fight for a $15 minimum wage, which renewed a national
labor movement through bold strategy and broad inclusiveness.
Digging deep into the root causes of poverty wages, Rosenblum gives
a blunt assessment of the daunting problems facing unions today, while
providing an inspirational blueprint for a powerful, all-inclusive labor
movement and for workers to reclaim their power in the new economy.
