FROM SUNDANCE TO SOUTH CENTRAL...
Thursday, January 9, 2014 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
BET's Real Husbands Of Hollywood funny lady, Tiffany Haddish: The South Central born African American standup performer weighs in on her both raunchy and real performances on Def Comedy Jam, The Improv, The Comedy Store and Chelsea Lately. And surviving the foster care system as so-called state property, her Chuckles Not Knuckles anti-violence campaign, and the comedian's unusual memoirs having to do with unicorns that she's been cooking up, and why.
Sundance: Making a long story short. Young filmmaker Michelle Morgan phones in from LA to talk about her Sundance bittersweet short, KIT - a look at 'counter culture' and the great divide. Or rather, the class divisions over that counter between store customers and the too often anonymous and invisiblized minimum wage blue collar workers serving them. Morgan also touches on 'the soul crushing Hollywood system' - and what's up with her inner Woody Allen. Playing at the IFC Center.
