We have two detective series that premiered on January 21, 1946: THE FAT MAN and I DEAL IN CRIME, and a few leftovers from the past week: DUFFY'S TAVERN and ABBOTT & COSTELLO, all tonight on The Golden Age of Radio! We'll start with a leftover from the Frankenstein/Boris Karloff show - DUFFY'S TAVERN from NBC-Blue on Jan 12, 1945 via the AFRS. Archie's written a play for the unique talents of guest Boris Karloff. The play is to be performed at a bond rally and is titled, "Young Monster Malone," or, "I'll Be Sawing You." With Ed Gardner as Archie, Eddie Green, Charlie Cantor, Sandra Gould as "Miss Duffy", Boris Karloff, Alan Reed, Bert Reeves and His Orchestra, vocal by Bob Graham, announcer Jack Bailey, producer John Roche,directed by John Roche .

THE FAT MAN FROM ABC on Jan 21, 1946 "The Nineteenth Pearl." Premiere. A good adventure that starts with a beautiful stranger in Grand Central Terminal. Starring J. Scott Smart, directed by Robert Sloane, created by Dashiell Hammett, music by Bernard Green.

I DEAL IN CRIME from ABC on Jan 21, 1946. Premiere, starring William Gargan as detective Ross Dolan. Laura Shields hires Dolan to be her bodyguard. He finds plenty of murder. Written by Ted Hediger, directed by Leonard Reeg, music by Skitch Henderson, announcer Dresser Dahlstead.

THE ABBOTT AND COSTELLO SHOW from NBC Red Jan 20, 1944 for Camels, Prince Albert Tobacco. Costello takes on "The Great Gildersleeve," on and off the football field. With Harold Peary, Elvia Allman, Arthur Q. Bryan, announcer Ken Niles, Freddie Rich and His Orchestra, Connie Haines
