WBAI-FM Upcoming Program
State of the Arts

Fri, Nov 17, 2017   5:00 PM

This week on State of the Arts NYC, we celebrate our 2nd anniversary. And we have a special reading and guests joining the show.

Tonight  we have Lilly Tuttle is Associate Curator at the Museum of the City of New York. And we will talk about their new exhibition -- ART IN THE OPEN... Fifty Years of Public Art in New York. Tuttle holds a Ph.D. in American History from New York University and a B.A. in American Studies from Yale University. Her doctoral dissertation looked at the redevelopment of lower Manhattan between the years of 1958 and 1985, and uncovered the convergence of urban design, historic preservation, and public art in that area. She recently served as Associate Curator on New York at Its Core, the first and only Museum exhibition to cover the entire, dramatic, 400-year sweep of New York history alongside an interactive look at the city’s future. New York at Its Core is the Museum’s first permanent exhibition.

Then we will share past interviews this year with Ayanna Legros, Arturo O'Farill and a museum review by Irene Javors on the Rise of Russian Avante Garde.
