“NORTH CIRCULAR,” A MUSICAL DOCUMENTARY ON DUBLIN’S FABLED ROAD
On tonight’s show we’ll be joined by filmmaker Luke McManus to discuss his new musical documentary film North Circular, a visually and sonically stunning journey in black and white through Dublin’s legendary city artery, its turbulent history, legacies of British colonialism and prison-industrial complex, its working class culture and unbreakable creative spirit.
Luke McManus has produced and directed award-winning projects in Dublin for NBC, Netflix, RTE, Virgin Media Television, and more, winning four IFTA’s, the Celtic Media Award and the Radharc Award. His debut feaure as producer was The Lonely Battle of Thomas Reid which won the George Morrison Award for Best Feature Documentary at the Irish Film & Television Awards and Best Film Award at the Dublin International Film Festival. North Circular is his debut as a feature documentary director.
