NATIONAL CLIMATE MARCH COVERAGE
- 04/25/2017

On April 29, the Pacifica Radio network will stand up as protectors of the earth, with a day of special programming dedicated to exposing the state and corporate enemies of the environment. The national broadcast, which will run from 9 am until 6 pm EDT, will include perspectives from powerful environmental advocates and activists including Winona LaDuke, Bill McKibben, and Dr. Michio Kaku, plus Standing Rock water protectors, among many others.

Pacifica will provide live coverage from the People’s Climate March in Washington DC on that day. The march is “for climate, jobs, and justice”, and its slogan is “We resist, we build, we rise”. Pacifica Radio endorses this effort.

Pacifica interim Executive Director Bill Crosier said, “Our environment and our planet are coming under increasing attack. The current administration has taken aim directly at the environment, signing executive orders which destroy protections for the earth and its inhabitants. Our children and future generations are being put at risk for short term financial gain. This broadcast will examine how the delicate balance of our environment is being put under the care of those who have spent their careers trying to remove environmental protections in favor of corporate profits.”
