BREAKING THE SILENCE ON THE STATE OF BLACK AMERICA

Dr. Lillie Hibbler-Britt is author of "River Voices: Breaking the Silence" a social political ideology of issues affecting the African American community through research, commentary, poetry and photography. Join us as she shares her perspective on issues that affect the African American community such as education, the role of corporate America, relationships, crime, religion, and  domestic abuse. Dr.  Hibbler-Britt is currently researching use of Social Media  and is a Research Fellow at the University Of Phoenix School Of Advanced Studies. In 2009 she was  a recipient of the “Dr. Maya Angelou Women Who Leads Award” by the United Negro College Fund  and has also served as a Human Relations Commissioner for the City of York, PA.

STUDENT ATHLETES OVERCOMING THE SPORTS MAZE?

To many African American, Latino and poor families sports scholarships are an avenue to education and success.  But the recruitment process has become exceedingly difficult to navigate. Tom Kovic is President of “Victory Collegiate Consulting” and advises families and prospective student-athletes in executing plans for college.. He is a nationally renowned leader in the field of college recruiting and the author of “Reaching for Excellence: An Educational Guide for College Athletics Recruiting.”  He has helped place over 500 candidates to top colleges and universities during the past 10 years. In 19 seasons as coach at The University of Pennsylvania, he led his teams to 8 Ivy League Team Championships.
