MUSICAL CHAIRS PRESENTS "RIGHT LONG IN HERE"

Musical Chairs will feature guest host Malika Lee Whitney. 

Whitney is Artistic Director of Pickney Productions, an arts and education consortium based in Harlem. Her work as a performing artist is well known for presenting culturally vibrant and relevant programs for audiences of all ages.

Whitney has served as a producer and host on WBAI Radio for many years presenting arts and public affairs programs. Her favorite on air work was the popular show “Pickney Place,” a storytelling themed broadcast with intergenerational appeal. She has pledged to bridge the chasm between generations. The Significant Elders Intergenerational Project and the Double Dutch Dreamz Training Program are only two of the initiatives toward that goal.

The special edition of Musical Chairs is entitled "Right Long In Here" and takes its name from a popular folklore expression: a feeling of something needed in this moment. 

"Right Long In Here" will present an eclectic mix of music from a deep well of expressionism. Invited guests will share insights about the inspiration about the music they create. A cultural calendar of events will also be shared.
