REV. JESSE JACKSON AT INTERNATIONAL REPARATIONS SUMMIT
Friday, April 10, 2015 12:00 AM - 11:30 PM
The Institute of the Black World 21st Century (IBW), a leading research, policy and advocacy group, kicked off its unprecedented National/International Black Reparations Summit at the Mother AME Zion Church in Harlem on Thursday night. The event will continue in various sites across New York City, from April 9 to 12, 2015. Delegates from across the USA, Canada, Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America will participate in the conference. At the inaugural rally, the Reverend Jesse Jackson gave the keynote speech, and articulated why there is a need to have a serious conversation about the issue of reparations, something that continues to be avoided. Here is an excerpt of this talk.
