Program description:
Wakeup Call is WBAI's morning drive-time news magazine.
The show features in-depth coverage of local, national and
international news, social and cultural issues and events.
The focus is on human rights, peace and social, economic and
racial justice. We bring voices and perspectives that are excluded
from mainstream media. While the topics covered on Wakeup Call
are serious and important, portions of the program are entertaining.
Host/producer profiles:
Sharan Louise Harper is a native of New York City and a product of
its public school system. She received the Bachelor of Arts degree

York. She joined the WBAI family in 1993 as a seasonal membershp
assistant. In 1996, Sharan became a member of the Emanations
Collective and the producer of Wakeup Call in 1998.

"Mother of Reproductive Rights." A former associate city planner with the New
