Housing Notebook: advice on tenants rights, decent affordable housing and related urban affairs coverage, with call-ins.

Scott Sommer has been a tenants rights activist for over 20 years.

A former legal services attorney, Sommer is the chair of the Metropolitan Council on Housing, New York's oldest tenant union. Sommer currently is the New York Sub-Regional Director for the United Auto Workers.

Vajra Kilgour has been involved in tenant struggles since the late 1960s.

She has been co-chair of the 515-521 West 122nd Street Tenants' Association for over ten years, and has worked as a tenant organizer in Harlem and the South Bronx. She has been a member of the board of directors of the Metropolitan Council on Housing since 1998 (currently a vice chair), and served on the first board of directors of the Harlem Tenants Council.
