By Linda Z WBAI Womens Collective Short of an arranged marriage, Knocked Up, is about two people, essentially strangers, who have sex one night and end up "in love." With baby and marriage in the not too distant future This is Judd Apatow (40 Year Old Virgin) directed romantic comedy is aimed at the young at heart and in age. If this movie makes money, if people, "young people," go out of their way to buy a theater ticket, to walk into the theater and to see this film, then this film is scary. Because this is the stupidest, most insipid film imaginable. The "jokes" refer more to body parts than to even body action. BJ is said instead of blow job. But every other word is fuck said with such force and redundancy, that it puts filmmaker Spike Lee to shame. If this is the third grade level of intelligence filmmakers think American youth want, like and appreciate enough for them to make millions over millions of dollars, this country is in more trouble than I ever realized. Do not see this movie. Do not recommend this movie to your friends. Boycott the insipid, the vacuous, the not so hidden reactionary religious tones that permeate this boy meets child two hour moment of terror. If this film is a hit, our world, our future are doomed.
