New Live Online Player On WBAI.org
- NYC 09/20/2012 by Alan Arthur Katz, Webmaster (WBAI)

If you're using Firefox on Windows and recently updated your Flash Player (it's usually automatic), you would have experienced difficulties listening to WBAI online over the last few weeks.

Due to either a security bug in Flash, or  a problem in the way Flash works with the latest version of Firefox, our long-term player would consistently fail to connect to our audio stream.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused our online visitors.

We're pleased to announce that we completely revamped our live listening experience here on wbai.org. We've implemented an exciting new open-source player, slimmed down the player page and now give you direct access to the player from the home page, requiring just a single click to launch it.

We've also added a new "Listen" button to the main menu at the top of each page. This new button gives you access to the WBAI Archives, mobile listening options and the Pacifica.Archives.

These should all now work with any PC or Mac browser, or on any Android or Windows mobile device. Because Apple's iPhone and iPad do not support Adobe Flash, you'll need to download the "Intune" app in order to listen to WBAI live on those devices.

We hope you enjoy the new listening experience delivered by our new player and easier access to it.
