Congress passed the Transportation bill, which President Barack Obama is expected to sign into law tomorrow. The 127 billion dollar bill doesn't include approval of the Keystone XL pipeline or the prohibition of government regulation of coal ash disposal but it does include a one year extension of current interest rates on student loans and a provision that would benefit all those communities and ecosystem affected the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
WBAI's Andrea Sears spoke with Elizabeth Thompson, director of Congressional Affairs for the Environmental Defense Fund.
