Sidewalk performances will occur all day in conjunction with Make Music New York.

Now in its tenth year, Make Music New York, “the largest music event ever to grace Gotham” (Metro New York), is a unique festival of 1,000+ free concerts in public spaces throughout the five boroughs of New York City, all on June 21st, the first day of summer. MMNY takes place simultaneously with similarfestivities in more than 700 cities around the world – a global celebration of music making.

Brooklyn Commons serves the community and grass roots organizations that includes the home of WBAI 99.5fm and Brooklyn Filmmakers, Families United for Racial and Economic Justice, Jacobin Magazine, Right to the City Alliance, The Indypendent, The Marxist Education Project, Women's Hands Establishing Entrepreneurial Leadership Skills.

Making Music New York provides performances outdoors throughout the boroughs and in other cities nationally. All on the summer solstice.The MMNY crew has been producing a weekly show on wbai Fri's 2pm in partnership with wbai since March 2016. National events are amping up as well as efforts expand bringing music to more cities on the summer solstice.
