JoAnn Brewster-Cheatham A World of Jazz Producer also founder and publisher of Pure Jazz Magazine, educator, videographer, photographer, Jazz sponsor of many Brooklyn productions and one of the original members of Central Brooklyn Jazz Consortium….

Let it be known that Jo Ann Brewster-Cheatham was the only Black woman publisher of a Jazz Magazine in NYC and possibly the country or world!!!   JoAnn was also a mentor, mother, grandmother, friend, colleague and a very special lover of the music called Jazz.  Her passing is a great loss as she touched so many people profoundly as a loving, caring and very creative human being. Please allow some time to pass as our family/staff grieve for our fallen family member. 

During that time we’ll revisit some of our show content from previous years.  JoAnn Brewster-Cheatham was one of a kind and will be sorely missed.  RIP my sister, sending love and prayers to everyone whose lives she touched as richly as she did ours.  Well done cultural warrior.
