Freelancers in NYC Rejoice in "Freelance Isn't Free" Act

There are 1.3 million Freelancers in NYC. According to Sara Horowitz with the Freelancer's Union, "Independent workers are one of the fastest growing sectors of the workforce and the backbone of New York City's economy-but they are getting stiffed out of thousands of dollars a year."

To address this problem, the NYC Council has introduced a bill which would protect Freelancers from late payments and deadbeat employers.
