THE DAY KING CAME TO TOWN: A DAY LONG TRIBUTE TO MLK BY WBAI + LISTENERS
- WBAI 01/20/2014

On Monday, January 20th, WBAI producers turn their attention to Martin Luther King, Jr., his relationship to labor issues across the country and those in our listening areas who experienced first hand his appearances.

WBAI's Interim Program Director, Bob Hennelly, will invite listeners to call in their rememberances of King's visits to the New York area, his support of unions in the city and the impact he has had on our lives.

WBAI will also be running our annual MLK fund drive day. This year we ask that you give in the name of your favorite show, to the station in general, or by subscribing to be a BAI Buddy.

To show our appreciation, anyone donating $150 or more or who signs up to be a BAI BUDDY for $10 a month or more on Monday, January 20th, will be entered to win a 13" Macbook Air laptop loaded with archival programming, MLK related material, and the Niteshift "MLK MIX" of music and speeches (a $1,400 VALUE).
