Some 217 environmental groups, labor organizations, businesses and public officials today called for action to bring what one activist called the Saudi Arabia of Wind to the Atlantic Coast. 

They signed a letter to President Obama asking for quicker permitting, ambitious goals for wind development and more financial incentives for the wind power industry.
